What Australians said:

“Junko & Neil really are super hosts!

Their beautiful farm stay is only 10 minutes away from the town center of Te Anau but seems a world away.

It has stunning views of the nearby mountains and a great spot to star gaze. They do absolutely everything to make their guests feel welcome, cooking delicious dinners (if you wish) and all breakfasts.

We enjoyed the farm tour and our daughter really liked milking one of their many goats. We also loved the milk and ice cream made from their very own cow (Patience) and goat milk too.

It’s a fantastic place to use as a base to explore Milford/Doubtful Sounds and Fiordland. Junko and Neil also made great suggestions on other places to go. We highly recommend and would happily return. Thanks again :-)”

At our home ,the arrival of new guests is anything but “business as usual”. It’s an event, all of its own. Why? Because we do not have more than 2 sets of guests at one time.

Our first goal as a host is to make spending time on our farm one of the highlights of your trip. One of the ways we do that is through the farm walk and optional goat milking experience.

Te Anau Homestay English

Every day that guests arrive is another opportunity for a free farm tour experience. Our children, want you to meet the animals. The milking cow wants you to scratch her. The goats want you to pat them. Your “little ones” want to see what toys there are to play with.

If you choose to eat an evening meal with us, you’re in for another sort of adventure. We are all proud of the homemade food we offer.

Staying in a remote area is an adventure. We hope you can join us for a couple of nights or more.

“The beds are so comfy and Junko and Neil are the most hospitable people ever (we’ve stayed at a lot of Airbnb’s). Try the dinner at least one night (the beef curry is amazing). Also, breakfast is AMAZING. the smell of Junko’s freshly baking croissants in the morning is icing on the cake. Last, our children just loved the farm tour and milking the goats (and having the opportunity to drink fresh milk!). My son is already plotting his return. Thank you Junko and Neil!!”

“It was a wonderful experience to stay with Junko and Neil! It was beyond our expectations! Junko is so knowledgeable of the local history and surrounding area, she provided great tips for the rest of our journey. We received a tour of the farm and got to try a hand in milking goats. Great memories for the children! Thank you again for your hospitality and we hope to stay with you again in the future!” – Fay Fletcher, Clairemont, California, United States

“Junko and Neil’s place is phenomenal. They are the epitome of hospitality…

In addition, the tour around the farm was really neat and the dinner and breakfast with them are to die for. One of our favorite experiences in all of NZ.

If you are making your way to Milford Sound, this place is definitely worth the stay.”- Hayley, USA

Thank you to airbnb for listing them.

Amazing cook. A mixture of Japanese and Kiwi culture. Home cooking very delicious and healthy.

Great location plus visit to their farm, calves drinking milk, a chance to milk the goat, other goats and cow.

I strongly recommend to anyone who want to experience New Zealand farm stay. Worth the money.” Eve, Auckland New Zealand
